Stucked!!

 

       "Sorry! I am stuck in traffic so I will be late". Almost every day we have to repeat the same statement to our friends, relatives or employer due to the heavy traffic in the streets/roads of Kathmandu. Traffic congestion has become a major problem for city dwellers due the increasing private vehicles and narrow roads. 

        Traffic congestion, not only cause delays and waste of time, it also wastes fuel, increases air pollution and vehicles get deteriorated very fast. It also encourages road rage and accidents due the stressed and frustrated motorist and drivers. Heavy traffic becomes the real headache in the time of emergency. There are numerous problems caused by the traffic congestion in our lives directly or indirectly. Traffic congestion has become a major challenge in most of the cities of Nepal. 

          The possible solutions for this problem can be to improve the present traffic management system, building bridges, increase public vehicles by providing incentives and encourage people to use public vehicles, effective urban planning, well managed parking system, and manage sidewalks for the pedestrians. 

      Effective and well managed traffic system will certainly make the public life easier and comfortable and ultimately increases the efficiency at their work.
